What We Teach and Believe

We believe that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).  We believe that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

Personal Responsibility

We believe that the Lord calls us according to His purpose to be Holy (1 Peter 1:15-16, 2 Corinthians 7:1).  Each of us has a personal responsibility to not just look at the Word but to do what it says (James 1:22-25).  The Word teaches us that we are to go and make disciples (evangelize) (Matthew 28:18-19).  Therefore, each of us has a responsibility to tell our friends, neighbors and family about the love of Jesus and His offer of salvation. Pattern for Marriage

We believe the marriage relationship was orgained and created by God (Hebrews 13:4) as a special relationship between a man and woman.  God's original plan, from the beginning, was one man and one woman for life (Matthew 19:4-6).  We believe that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and recognizes only one reason to dissolve a marriage (Matthew 19:9). Worship

Church Pattern

God's pattern is that each congregation will function independently.  Therefore, each congregation is established with more than one elder (Titus 1:5) that oversees the affairs of the congregation (1 Timothy 5:17), prepares God's people for works of service (Ephesians 4:12), and shepherds and protects the flock (1 Peter 5:2).  These men are made elders by the Holy Spirit (Acts 20:28) and must give an account (Hebrews 13:17) to Jesus Christ.The congregation selects men from within the congregation...more

One Church

We believe that there is only on Church that was built by Christ (Matthew 16:16-18) and purchased by His own blood (Acts 20:28).  Jesus adds us to his Church when we are saved (Acts 2:47).  The New Testament teaches that the Church is the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23) and that Christ is the head of that body (Colossians 1:18).  Therefore, all authority belongs to Christ.  It is our responsibility to obey the commands of Jesus Christ (John 14:23) and to teach others to obey His commands (...more

Holy Spirit
